This comprehensive one day course is designed to teach the most current evidence based management techniques to effectively treat Lymphedema.

Recent research studies will be discussed to validate therapeutic techniques. Participants will leave the course with information needed to immediately begin referring patients with lymphedema to the appropriate program.

Effective assessment and treatment approaches are thoroughly explained . Successful functional outcomes with lymphedema patients can be achieved if a patient is guided appropriately.

Course Objectives:

· Demonstrate an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system.

· Describe the path physiology of common upper and lower extremity lymphedema.

· Recognize, assess  the different classifications of  upper and lower extremity.

· Be able to choose or refer patients to the appropriate evidence based lymphedema management program.

· Recognize new-technology including low level laser and latest research supporting its use in lymphedemamanagement..
